In honor of Pride Month this year, KLA flew the Pride flag in our offices around the world. The rainbow flag has been an iconic symbol of pride in the LGBTQIA+ community since the first ones flew at the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade in 1978. KLA raised the Pride flag, featuring our iconic plus overlaid in the center, to celebrate the diversity of the KLA community, including our employees, partners, customers and communities in which we live.

Exploring Gender Beyond the Binary

On June 23rd, KLA hosted guest speaker Lianna Newman, a career technologist and LGBTQIA+ activist and advocate, in a workshop entitled “Exploring Gender Beyond the Binary”. Lianna recalled experiences throughout Lianna’s full career history that shaped Lianna’s relationship with identity, gender and sexuality, and invited our employee community to ask questions, explore our existing opinions and advance our collective understanding of gender and identity. We also reviewed valuable communication skills in the gender and sexuality space, practicing spoken pronoun-based exercises to reliably create a comfortable environment for the gender non-conforming individuals we encounter.
