Every year, Ann Arbor SPARK organizes a series of tech-related events in the Ann Arbor region called a2Tech360. This year, KLA was the presenting sponsor of 2020 a2Tech360, and was excited to actively participate in several of the events for the second year.

Alongside other Ann Arbor area tech companies, we told a variety of stories related to our growing tech industry here in Michigan through a series of short presentations in the Tech Talk. This year’s event was a bit different, as COVID precautions kept our speakers from presenting to a live audience at the Michigan Theatre as usual. Instead, we filmed our segments at our office in Ann Arbor and added them to the pre-recorded digital show. It was exciting to have a film crew at our office, which has been quiet recently as most of our team works remotely.

Our segment features an introduction to KLA and what we do from our Ann Arbor site lead, John McLaughlin, who then introduces our main speaker, Susan Wagner, KLA’s VP of Global Facilities and Real Estate, based here in Ann Arbor. Susan touches on several topics including our growth and opportunities here in Michigan, the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and what we have done to keep our employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
